Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Formality, Evolution, and Model-driven Software Engineering

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2005
AbstractThis paper introduces an approach to software development in which a series of working implemen- tations are generated automatically from a series of formal specifications. The implementations are data stores, communicating through standard protocols.

Combining Model-Driven Engineering and Cloud Computing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Service-orientation and model-driven engineering are two of the most dominant software engineering paradigms nowadays. This position paper explores the synergies between them and show how they can benefit from each other.

A quality management based on the Quality Model life cycle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Managing quality is a hard and expensive task that involves the execution and control of processes and techniques. For a good quality management, it is important to know the current state and the objective to be achieved.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A formal foundation for transformations in model driven engineering

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2008
In the MDE (Model Driven Engineering) paradigm, models are thought to be the primary conductors in all software development aspects. A PIM (Platform Independent Model) is transformed into one or more PSMs (Platform Specific Model); hence, a specific PSM ...

An Experiment in Model Driven Architecture for e-Enterprise Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
OMG's Model Driven Architecture demonstrates how a system's specification model can be used within the process of creating supporting software implementations.

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.
