Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

Quantum Gravity: Has Spacetime Quantum Properties? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The conceptual incompatibility between General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics is generally seen as a sufficient motivation for the development of a theory of Quantum Gravity. If - so a typical argumentation - Quantum Mechanics gives a universally valid

Quantum simulation with gauge fixing: From Ising lattice gauge theory to dynamical flux model

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Quantum simulation of synthetic dynamic gauge field has attracted much attentions in recent years. There are two traditional ways to simulate gauge theories.

Quantum dynamics of the effective field theory of the Calogero-Sutherland model

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We consider the known effective field theory of the Calogero-Sutherland model in the thermodynamic limit of large number of particles, obtained from the standard procedure in conformal field theory: the Hilbert space is constructed a priori in terms of ...

Toy Models for Quantum Field Theory

open access: yes, 2018
In order to better understand quantum field theory we present some toy models on finite dimensional Hilbert spaces. We discuss how these models converge to a discrete spacetime version of quantum field theory. We first define toy fermion, boson and mixed fermion-boson free quantum fields.

Magnetic‐Field Control of Surface States in CoFe2O4 Thin Films for Nitrate Electroreduction to Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐assisted CVD of heterometallic single‐source precursors modulates thin‐film surface electronic structure and interfacial charge transfer. Field‐grown (Cobalt ferrite‐1T)CF‐1T films exhibit stabilized electronic states, lower kinetic barriers, and markedly enhanced nitrate‐to‐ammonia electrocatalysis versus (Cobalt ferrite‐0T) CF‐0T ...

The exact s-matrices of affine toda field theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
This thesis is concerned with exact solutions to various massive field theories in 1+1 dimensions. Two approaches are described. The first, abstract and non-lagrangian, relies on the considerable understanding that there now is of massless two-dimensional

Quasi-local holographic dualities in non-perturbative 3d quantum gravity I – Convergence of multiple approaches and examples of Ponzano–Regge statistical duals

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
This is the first of a series of papers dedicated to the study of the partition function of three-dimensional quantum gravity on the twisted solid torus with the aim to deepen our understanding of holographic dualities from a non-perturbative quantum ...

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.
