Spread of Entanglement in Non-Relativistic Theories

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2018
We use a simple holographic toy model to study global quantum quenches in strongly coupled, hyperscaling-violating-Lifshitz quantum field theories using entanglement entropy as a probe.

Controlled Engineering of 2D Alkali‐Iron‐Chloride Compounds and Lateral Quantum Heterostructures Within Confined Graphene Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Ising meson spectroscopy on a noisy digital quantum simulator

open access: yesNature Communications
Quantum simulation has the potential to be an indispensable technique for the investigation of non-perturbative phenomena in strongly-interacting quantum field theories (QFTs).

Renormalizable quantum field theory as a limit of a quantum field model on the loop space

open access: yes, 2004
A nonlocal generalization of quantum field theory in which momentum space is the space of continuous maps of a circle into $\mathbf{R}^4$ is proposed. Functional integrals in this theory are proved to exist. Renormalized quantum field model is obtained as a local limit of the proposed theory.

Interlayer Expansion of Bulk MoS2 via Top‐Down Organic Pillaring Enables Tunable Li+ Intercalation and Controlled Solvent Co‐Intercalation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Top‐down organic pillaring expands the interlayer spacing of bulk‐sized MoS2 particles while preserving the bulk morphology. Operando X‐ray diffraction and electrochemical dilatometry show that MoS2‐bulk undergoes solvent co‐intercalation in diglyme electrolyte, causing large structural expansion, while pillared, expanded MoS2 suppresses solvent uptake

Boundary sinh-Gordon model and its supersymmetric extension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Three different aspects of the sinh-Gordon model are explored in this thesis. We begin, in chapter one, with a summary of the model and the necessary background. Chapter two studies the model with two boundary conditions.

3D‐Printed Piezoionic/Bioelectronic Hydrogel for Electro‐Metabolic Regulation of Osteogenic Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed piezoionic GPMx hydrogel enables stable electromechanical signal generation under mechanical loading, exhibiting long‐term durability and low fatigue. As a bioactive patch, it restores endogenous bioelectricity to stimulate osteogenesis via Ca2+ influx and mitochondrial activation, while simultaneously enabling label‐free alkaline ...

The relation between classical and quantum electrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this article it is presented the idea that quantum electrodynamics presents intrinsic limitations in the description of physical processes that makes it impossible to recover from it the type of description we have with classical electrodynamics.

Quantum field-theory models on fractal spacetime

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 1989
The present work explores the possibility of giving a non-perturbative definition of the quantum field-theory models in non-integer dimensions, which have been previously studied by Wilson and others using analytic continuation of dimension in perturbation integrals.

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...
