A Route to Surface-bound Metalloporphyrins as Models for Oxygen Reduction Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The attachment nonmetal and magnesium ethynyl terminated porphyrin (TEPP and MgTEPP) to glassy carbon electrode was achieved through voltammetry. These attached porphyrins were studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and UV-visible spectroscopy. Surface-bound

Impact of Oxygen Plasma Pre‐Treatment on Thermal Oxidation and Reliability of SiO2 on 4H‐SiC

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
We investigate how oxygen plasma pre‐treatment affects the thermal oxidation of silicon carbide. While plasma modification increases growth rates by 84%, it reduces dielectric breakdown strength by 18%. Our findings reveal that although plasma improves the interface state density, it introduces structural damage, highlighting a critical trade‐off ...

Voltammetric Assay of Metformin Hydrochloride Using Pyrogallol Modified Carbon Paste Electrode

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2015
The electrooxidative behavior and determination of metformin hydrochloride, anti-hyperglycemic drug, on a pyrogallol modified carbon paste electrode were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. Metformin hydrochloride shows an irreversible oxidation behavior over a wide interval of pH (Britton-Robinson buffers, pH 2-9).

NiO/CNTs Nanocomposite Modified Ionic Liquid Carbon Paste Electrode as a Voltammetric Sensor for Determination of Quercetin [PDF]

open access: yes
A high sensitive carbon paste electrode modified with NiO/CNTs and ionic liquid (ILs/NiO/CNT/CPE) was describe for voltammetric determination of quercetin. Compared to unmodified carbon paste electrode, the electrochemical response was greatly improved

Parallel Electrical Integration of Photo Bio Electrochemical Systems (photo‐BESs): Performance Gains and Load Dependency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

Catalysts for ultrahigh current density oxygen cathodes for space fuel cell applications [PDF]

open access: yes
The objective was to identify promising electrocatalyst/support systems for oxygen cathodes capable of operating at ultrahigh current densities in alkaline fuel cells. Such cells will require operation at relatively high temperatures and O2 pressures.
