The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Photonic Tensor Cores: A Comprehensive Review on System Architecture and Device Design
Highly efficient parallel processing of photonic tensor cores is required for on-chip implementation of photonic neuromorphic algorithms. These photonic tensor cores are realized using interference-based mesh architectures, the unit block of which ...

The present approaches on predicting stability of delta-sigma (Δ-Σ) modulators are mostly confined to DC inputs. This poses limitations as practical applications of Δ-Σ modulators involve a wide range of signals other than DC such as multiple-sinusoidal ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Intensity dependent residual amplitude modulation in electro-optic phase modulators
Residual amplitude modulation (RAM) mechanisms in electro-optic phase modulators are detrimental in applications that require high purity phase modulation of the incident laser beam.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Polynomial Modules Over Macaulay Modules [PDF]
In [2] we introduced a concept of a Macaulay module over a right noetherian ring by saying that all associated primes of the module have the same codimension. That is to say that a module M over a right noetherian ring R is Macaulay if K dim R/P = K dim R/Q for all P, Q ∈ Ass M.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
