DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

On the Factorization of Differential Modules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Differential modules are modules over rings of linear (partial) differential operators which are finite-dimensional vector spaces. We present a generalization of the Beke-Schlesinger algorithm that factors differential modules. The method requires solving only one set of associated equations for each degree d of a potential factor.

Curve singularities with one Puiseux pair and value sets of modules over their local rings

open access: yes, 2021
In this paper we characterize the value set ∆ of the R-modules of the form R+zR for the local ring R associated to a germ ξ of an irreducible plane curve singularity with one Puiseux pair.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

On the size of differential modules

open access: yesDuke Mathematical Journal, 1999
Let \( G \) be an \( n\times n \) matrix with coefficients in \( {\mathbb Q}(x) \) and consider the differential module \( {\mathcal M }\) associated to the system of linear differential equations \( X' =GX\). For each prime \( p\), one can define its ``\(p\)-adic generic radius of convergence'' \( R_{p}\).
