Molecular Cloning of Steroid 21-Hydroxylase

Endocrine Research, 1984
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 21-hydroxylase (21-OH) deficiency is HLA-linked. The haplotype HLA-(A3);Bw47;DR7 is strongly associated with 21-OH deficiency and always carries a null allele at the complement C4A (Rodgers) locus. It seemed likely that this haplotype carries a deletion encompassing both the C4A and 21-OH loci. We hypothesized that

Molecular cloning and functional expression of glutamate receptor subunit genes.

Science, 1990
Three closely related genes, GluR1, GluR2, and GluR3, encode receptor subunits for the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. The proteins encoded by the individual genes form homomeric ion channels in Xenopus oocytes that are sensitive to glutamatergic ...

Sarcolectin: Complete purification for molecular cloning

Biochimie, 1999
A great variety of vertebrate cells contain detectable amounts of lectins, able to stimulate the initiation of cellular DNA synthesis. One of them, sarcolectin (SCL) can block interferon (IFN) action, by inhibiting the synthesis and the expression of the IFN dependent secondary proteins.

Molecular cloning of mouse thioredoxin reductases

Gene, 2000
We screened clones for thioredoxin reductase genes with a degenerate PCR-based strategy and have isolated two novel cDNA clones from a mouse thymocyte cDNA library. These encode two distinct thioredoxin reductases (TrxR1 and TrxR2) with 499 and 527 amino acid (aa) residues and calculated molecular masses of 54.5 kDa and 56.8 kDa respectively.

Molecular Cloning of Receptors for Acetylcholine

1986
The nicotinic acetylcholine receptor at the vertebrate neuromuscular junction has provided an excellent model both for studies of ligand-gated ion channels and for studies of neural regulation of the synthesis and properties of constituents of the neuromuscular junction.

Molecular Cloning of Adenosinediphosphoribosyl Transferase. [PDF]

open access: possible, 1987
Abstract : The purpose of obtaining the gene of Adenosinediphosphoribosyl Transferase (ADPRT) is: 1) the complete amino acid sequence of this large protein is best determined from the DNA sequence of the gene, 2) isolation of the gene provides gene probes that permit location and quantitation of the gene within genomic DNA, and 3) a variety of ...
