Molecular cloning of cat interleukin-12 [PDF]

open access: yesImmunogenetics, 1997
The recently discovered interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a heterodimeric 70000 Mr cytokine composed of a disulphide-bonded 35000 Mr (p35) subunit and a 40000 Mr (p40) subunit. Produced mainly by activated monocytes/macrophages and B cells, it enhances NK/LAK cell cytolytic activity and stimulates cytotoxic T-cell responses and IFN-γ production.

Generation of pig induced pluripotent stem cells using an extended pluripotent stem cell culture system

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2019
Background Pigs have emerged as one of the most popular large animal models in biomedical research, which in many cases is considered as a superior choice over rodent models.

Molecular cloning of cDNA encoding an unrecognized component of amyloid in Alzheimer disease.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1993
A neuropathological hallmark of Alzheimer disease (AD) is a widespread amyloid deposition. We analyzed the entire amino acid sequences in an amyloid preparation and found, in addition to the major beta/A4-protein (A beta) fragment, two unknown peptides ...

Cloning BRD4 long isoform into overexpression vectors for stable overexpression of BRD4-L in mammalian cells

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2022
Summary: Molecular cloning of BRD4-L is a challenging technique, because the DNA insert is formed by a long, GC-rich sequence, which folds into secondary structures.

Genome-wide analysis of the UDP-glucose dehydrogenase gene family in Arabidopsis, a key enzyme for matrix polysaccharides in cell walls [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Arabidopsis cell walls contain large amounts of pectins and hemicelluloses, which are predominantly synthesized via the common precursor UDP-glucuronic acid.

Molecular cloning and expression of human caldecrin [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1996
Earlier we reported the primary structure of serum calcium‐decreasing factor (caldecrin) from rat pancreas, a protein which is considered to be a member of the elastase family. In this report, we describe the isolation of the two homologous cDNA clones encoding caldecrin from human pancreas, the structures of which are identical except for one base and

Molecular cloning and transcriptional activity of a new Petunia calreticulin gene involved in pistil transmitting tract maturation, progamic phase, and double fertilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Calreticulin (CRT) is a highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed Ca2+-binding protein in multicellular eukaryotes. As an endoplasmic reticulum-resident protein, CRT plays a key role in many cellular processes including Ca2+ storage and release ...

Arguments for Human Therapeutic Cloning

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine, 2008
For over 30 years, many Western governments have regulated scientific research involving human subjects. According to Knoppers implementation of regulation followed a long and checkered history of research abuse.

Molecular cloning of the human hepatitis C virus genome from Japanese patients with non-A, non-B hepatitis.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1990
The nucleotide sequence of the Japanese type of hepatitis C virus (HCV-J) genome, consisting of 9413 nucleotides, was determined by analyses of cDNA clones from plasma specimens from Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis.

Development of an R4 dual-site (R4DS) gateway cloning system enabling the efficient simultaneous cloning of two desired sets of promoters and open reading frames in a binary vector for plant research. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Vast numbers of proteins work cooperatively to exert their functions in various cells. In order to understand the functions and molecular mechanisms of these proteins in plants, analyses of transgenic plants that concomitantly express two protein-coding ...
