Evaluation of molecular glue–induced neomorphic protein-protein interaction with a cell lysate–based time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer assay

open access: yesASPET Discovery
Neomorphic protein-protein interactions (neoPPIs) induced by mutated amino acid residues present a promising class of therapeutic targets for proximity pharmacology-enabled drug discovery. Small molecule compounds, such as cyclosporin and FK506, have the

Molecular Glue Degraders Enhance CAPRIN1-Dependent Lysosomal Degradation of APP and Reduce Amyloid β in Alzheimer's Disease. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
A new class of lysosome‐directed molecular glue degraders selectively enhance CAPRIN1–APP interactions, driving APP degradation and reducing amyloid‐β production in human neurons and Alzheimer's disease mouse models. This CAPRIN1‐dependent targeted protein degradation strategy reveals a previously unrecognized therapeutic approach for disrupting the ...

Ferrocene‐Based Self‐Assembled Monolayers Enable Ultra‐High Specific Detectivity in Perovskite Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report perovskite photodetectors with record specific detectivities exceeding 1013 Jones with a novel molecular design strategy to functionalize self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) with ferrocene (Fc) derivatives. Fc‐SAM‐based devices also exhibit strong operational stability and enable data transmission rates exceeding 1 Mbps in a LiFi system ...

Interface‐Mediated Catalysis for Improved Hydrogen Storage in Reactive Hydride Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Catalyst–hydride interfaces are engineered in Co@C‐ and Ni@C‐modified 2LiH + MgB2 reactive hydride composites to accelerate hydrogen uptake and release. Multiscale scattering, in‐situ synchrotron radiation powder x‐ray diffraction and density functional theory calculations reveal the structural and electronic origin of the catalytic enhancement ...

Defect‐Driven Charge Separation in Ba‐Doped SrTiO3: Correlating Photoelectrochemical Performance With Dye‐Selective Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ba‐doped SrTiO3 perovskites establish a direct correlation between photoelectrochemical activity and photocatalytic performance. Optimized Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 exhibits enhanced charge separation, photocurrent generation, and visible‐light‐driven dye degradation through defect‐induced oxygen vacancies and lattice distortion.

An Entirely New Molecular Glue for MOF Using Unusual Structural Transformation of a Coordination Polymer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this research, an entirely new molecular glue is reported. This ‘coordination polymer glue’ is synthesized from zinc metal and BDC-NPE(2,5-bis{4-[1-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylamino]butoxy}terephthalic acid).

Surface Functionalization Modulates Collective Cell Behavior Near Topological Defects Induced by Topographical Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Strongly adhered cells align with concentric circular ridges and exhibit predominantly tangential motion, whereas weakly adhered cells fail to follow topographical guidance and display enhanced radial inward motion. ABSTRACT Living cells establish long‐range orientational order through collective alignment, giving rise to topological defects whose ...
