Pressure Driven Flow of Polymer Solutions in Nanoscale Slit Pores

open access: yes, 2006
Polymer solutions subject to pressure driven flow and in nanoscale slit pores are systematically investigated using the dissipative particle dynamics approach.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Fish Scale Valorization by Hydrothermal Pretreatment Followed by Enzymatic Hydrolysis for Gelatin Hydrolysate Production

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Protein hydrolysates from fish by-products have good process suitability and bioavailability in the food industry. The objective of this work was to develop a method for protein recovery from fish scales and evaluate the hydrolysis of the scale protein ...

Isolation of a new high molecular weight protein associated with desmin and vimentin filaments from avian embryonic skeletal muscle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Filaments with a diameter of 80-120 Å have been prepared from 14-d-old chick embryonic skeletal muscle, using a physiological salt solution and gel filtration chromatography.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Influence of excess diamine on properties of PMR polyimide resins and composites [PDF]

open access: yes
By varying the stoichiometry of the reactants in the preparation of PMR polyimide resin, changes occur in molecular weight distribution which influence the rheological properties and thus the processability of the resin, as well as the mechanical ...

Numerical study of biodegradation of xenobiotic polymers based on exogenous depolymerization model with time dependent degradation rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A mathematical model for exogenous depolymerization with time dependent degradation rate is analyzed in order to study the biodegradation of polyethylene glycol. The weight distribution with respect to the molecular weight before and after cultivation of

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Antioxidant and ACE Inhibitory Activity of Enzymatic Hydrolysates from Ruditapes philippinarum

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Ruditapes philippinarum proteins were hydrolyzed by trypsin, neutrase, and pepsin. The antioxidant activities and ACE inhibitory activity of hydrolysates were analyzed and the antioxidant activities were related to their molecular weight distribution and
