Probing Electrocatalyst Design for Product Selectivity in CO2 Reduction
Selective CO2 electroreduction is controlled by catalyst structure, dynamic surface reconstruction, adsorbate interactions, and reaction microenvironment. This review summarizes Cu‐ and non‐Cu‐based catalysts, single‐atom and molecular systems, degradation pathways, and operando/computational strategies for steering CO2RR toward hydrocarbons ...

Gain‐of‐Function Engineering of the NifEN Scaffold Into a Self‐Assembling Nitrogenase
From scaffold to enzyme: Systematic engineering of the cofactor maturation scaffold NifEN reconstructs the P→M electron relay along with cofactor coordination and proton gating at the S2B site, converting NifEN into a functional nitrogenase capable of ATP‐dependent N2 reduction both in vitro and in vivo.

New Insights into the Neuropathogenesis of Molybdenum Cofactor Deficiency [PDF]
Background:Molybdenum cofactor deficiency (MOCOD) is a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disorder caused by sulphite oxidase enzyme deficiency. The neuropathological findings are consistent with a toxic insult to the brain that causes severe neuronal loss, reactive astrogliosis and spongiosis.

Rhoifolin directly targets NMNAT1, thereby activating nicotinamide salvage pathway and promoting intracellular NAD+ biosynthesis. Elevated NAD+ levels enhance SIRT1 activity, leading to FOXO1 deacetylation and nuclear translocation. Nuclear FOXO1 subsequently binds to the IL‐22 promoter, upregulating IL‐22 transcription and potentiating ILC3 effector ...

Molybdenum cofactor deficiency due to MOCS2 mutation
Molybdenum cofactor deficiency causes severe neonatal metabolic disease, seizures and death or severe brain damage. The cofactor forms the active site in aldehyde oxidase, xanthine oxidoreductase, mitochondrial amidoxime reducing component and sulphite ...

Human ultrarare genetic disorders of sulfur metabolism demonstrate redundancies in H2S homeostasis
Regulation of H2S homeostasis in humans is poorly understood. Therefore, we assessed the importance of individual enzymes in synthesis and catabolism of H2S by studying patients with respective genetic defects.

Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.

Neonatal molybdenum cofactor deficiency and ectopia lentis in a Saudi Arabian patient
Molybdenum cofactor deficiency (MCD) is a rare and ultimately fatal metabolic dis-ease that results in extensive neurodegeneration in early infancy. The causal association of MCD with sulfite oxidase deficiency, a known cause of subluxed lenses (ectopia ...

Zinc transporter SLC39A14 sustains intracellular Zn2+ levels to activate SIRT3‑dependent ANXA2 deacetylation at K302. This modification weakens ANXA2‑mTOR binding and releases autophagic‑flux suppression in nucleus pulposus cells. Dysregulated Zn2+ homeostasis disrupts this axis to drive intervertebral disc degeneration.
