On Minimal Moment of Inertia Polyominoes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We analyze the moment of inertia I(S), relative to the center of gravity, of finite plane lattice sets S. We classify these sets according to their roundness: a set S is rounder than a set T if I(S) < I(T). We show that roundest sets of a given size are strongly convex in the discrete sense.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

ESTIMATION OF INERTIA MOMENT OF CAR ENGINE MOVING PARTS [PDF]

open access: yesAvtomobilʹnyj Transport (Harʹkov), 2018
Problem. To calculate the car dynamics, especially in urban conditions with frequent transitions to lower gears, the values of the inertia moment (MI) or the equivalent mass (EM) of the engine moving parts, brought to the crankshaft, are required ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Influence of moment of inertia on electric power system security and stability control

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
The moment of inertia is the basic parameter of the generator and also the basic data of PSS parameter tuning. The parameter setting of PSS will increase the damping of the unit and improve the small disturbance stability of the system.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

ESTIMATION OF MASS MOMENT OF INERTIA OF HUMAN BODY, WHEN BENDING FORWARD, FOR THE DESIGN OF A SELF-TRANSFER ROBOTIC FACILITY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2016
Knowledge of Mass Moment of Inertia of human body and its segments are necessary for various problems in biomechanics and its applications. This paper focusses on the estimation of Moment of Inertia of a human body when bending forward, which is needed ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
