Moniliformin production byFusarium species isolated from Argentinian corn
Mycotoxin Research, 1996Forty-one isolates ofFusarium obtained from the main Argentinian corn production area were tested for their ability to produce moniliformin. One of 22 isolates ofF. moniliforme, 2/10 of F.proliferatum and 3/9 ofF. subglutinans, produced moniliformin in a range between 0,3 to 2,7 mg/g.

[Detoxification of moniliformin].

The structure of moniliformin treated with O3 was analysed by means of IR and NMR spectrum etc. It was proved that the double bond was disappeared and the 4-C ring structure was opened.

Enzyme-Assisted Extraction of Moniliformin from Extruded Corn Grits
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2005Water has been known to be the ideal solvent for moniliformin but is not suitable to extract this toxin from cooked matrices due to instant swelling upon addition of the solvent. In this study, an improved method to extract moniliformin from extruded corn grits using alpha-amylase was developed.

Reduction of Moniliformin in Corn by Heat Processing
Journal of Food Science, 2003ABSTRACT: The effects of autoclaving, baking, extrusion, frying, and roasting on the stability of moniliformin (MON) in spiked (5 μg/g of MON) corn‐based food products were investigated. Roasting corn meal at 218 °C for 15 min had the most significant effect (p ≤ 0.05) on the reduction of MON (44.6%).

[Study on toxicological mechanism of moniliformin].
