Interferon with novel characteristics produced by human mononuclear leukocytes
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1983Treatment of human peripheral blood mononuclear leukocytes with phytohaemmaglutinin and the tumour promoter teleocidin, results in the production of large amounts of interferon-gamma and significant amounts of a novel interferon-like substance which we tentatively class as interferon-delta.

Glucocorticoid Receptors of Human Mononuclear Leukocytesin Vitro*
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1983The present study was performed to analyze glucocorticoid receptor binding in peripheral blood mononuclear leukocytes from normal adult humans. In addition, the potential regulatory effect of excess amounts of glucocorticoids and thyroid hormones on glucocorticoid receptor binding was investigated.

Interaction of mononuclear leukocytes with malignant melanoma.
Laboratory investigation; a journal of technical methods and pathology, 1981Since it is well established that cellular immunity plays a role in the defense against melanoma, the morphologic aspects of this reaction warranted investigation. Accordingly, peripheral blood mononuclear cells obtained from healthy donors were incubated with human melanoma cells for 1 to 24 hours to examine, on the ultrastructural level, the cellular

The hydrophilic ligand 3H-CGP 12177 was used to measure beta-adrenergic receptors on intact human mononuclear leukocytes (MNLs). A single homogeneous class of receptor sites was found, with KD value of 0.71 +/- 0.04 nmol/L and Bmax of 3.0 +/- 0.4 fmol/10(6) cells (mean +/- SEM; n = 12).

Separation of mononuclear leukocytes and polymorphonuclear leukocytes from equine blood.
Canadian journal of comparative medicine : Revue canadienne de medecine comparee, 1977The present study describes a two step technique for the separation of mononuclear leukocytes or mononuclear and polymorphonuclear leukocytes from whole equine blood. First, the leukocyte rich plasma was obtained by sedimentation of erythrocytes in the undiluted blood.
