Detection of angiotensin II in supernatants of stimulated mononuclear leukocytes by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight/time-of-flight mass analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Angiotensin II ( Ang II) is the major vasoactive component of the renin- angiotensin system. Several components of the renin- angiotensin system have been demonstrated in different tissues.

Regulation of cholesterol biosynthesis in sitosterolemia: effects of lovastatin, cholestyramine, and dietary sterol restriction.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1991
We investigated the effects of lovastatin, cholestyramine, and dietary sterol restriction on cholesterol synthesis and low density lipoprotein receptor function in freshly isolated mononuclear leukocytes from two unrelated sitosterolemic families.

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Multiple effects of dipyridamole on neutrophils and mononuclear leukocytes: adenosine-dependent and adenosine-independent mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Dipyridamole is an antithrombotic drug that has been shown to influence not only platelet function but also some aspects of leukocyte activation.

Mononuclear Leukocyte Infiltrate in Extraplacental Membranes and Preterm Delivery [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Epidemiology, 2013
Large numbers of polymorphonuclear leukocytes in the amnion and chorion define histological chorioamnionitis (HCA), a condition linked to spontaneous preterm delivery (PTD). Less is known about placental patterns of mononuclear leukocyte (MNL) density and PTD.

PIEZO1 is Required for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Progression and Leukemia Stem Cell Maintenance via HIF1A‐SLC7A11 Axis‐Mediated Ferroptosis Defense

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the mechanosensor PIEZO1 as a key factor in promoting acute myeloid leukemia progression and uncovers a ferroptosis defense system mediated by PIEZO1‐HIF1A‐SLC7A11 axis that is essential for leukemia stem cell maintenance. This ferroptotic defense system may represent a unique vulnerability for leukemia stem cells, providing a ...

Androgen binding sites in peripheral human mononuclear leukocytes of healthy males and females. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Androgen binding sites have been identified in circulating human mononuclear leukocytes of healthy donors of both sexes. Cells were separated from blood samples on a Ficoll gradient and incubated with different concentrations of [3H]testosterone in the ...

A comparison of delipidated sera used in studies of sterol synthesis by human mononuclear leukocytes.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1979
Sterol synthesis in human mononuclear leukocytes is stimulated by delipidated serum. Synthesis in media containing serum delipidated by three different methods is compared.

Bradykinin-inactivating activity of mononuclear leukocytes.

open access: yesEnsho, 1986
Bradykinin-inactivating activity of mononuclear leukocytes was examined using guinea-pig macrophages and lymphocytes. Intact macrophages rapidly inactivated bradykinin. Bradykinin-inactivating activity of macrophages was present in the membrane and cytosol fractions but not in the nuclear and granular fractions.

Mitochondrial Carrier SLC25A13 Drives Ferroptosis Resistance and Immune Evasion via a STAT3–IFI6 Circuit in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC25A13 is identified as an immunometabolic driver of triple‐negative breast cancer that sustains ferroptosis resistance and immune evasion through a STAT3–IFI6 circuit. Pharmacologic degradation of SLC25A13 restores ferroptosis sensitivity and enhances anti‐PD‐1 efficacy, highlighting a strategy to convert immune‐cold tumors into immunotherapy ...
