JA‐Mediated Regulation of Amino Acid Homeostasis Adjusts Metabolic Flux and Enhances Spider Mite Tolerance via the SlJAZ8‐SlWRKY57‐SlAVT6s Module in Tomato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates a novel SlJAZ8‐SlWRKY57‐SlAVT6A/SlAVT6B module that effectively channels metabolic flux from primary to secondary metabolism, impacting plant growth, development, and resistance. Two novel vacuolar amino acid exporters, SlAVT6A and SlAVT6B, fine‐tunes trichomes, terpenes, and gibberellins, bolstering spider mite resistance.

Drying temperatures affect the qualitative–quantitative variation of aromatic profiling in Anethum graveolens L. ecotypes as an industrial–medicinal–vegetable plant

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
IntroductionThere are several factors that affect the quality and quantity of active ingredients and essential oil (EO) content, including pre and postharvest practices such as drying conditions. One of the most important factors in drying is temperature

Spearmint R2R3‐MYB transcription factor MsMYB negatively regulates monoterpene production and suppresses the expression of geranyl diphosphate synthase large subunit (MsGPPS . LSU )

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, 2017
Summary Many aromatic plants, such as spearmint, produce valuable essential oils in specialized structures called peltate glandular trichomes (PGTs). Understanding the regulatory mechanisms behind the production of these important secondary metabolites ...

Identification and Functional Characterization of a New Terpene Synthase Gene from Chrysanthemum indicum var. aromaticum

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2023
Terpene synthase (TPS) is a key enzyme in the synthesis of terpenoids in plants and plays an important role in the regulation of the synthesis of aromatic substances in plants. In this study, we treated Chrysanthemum indicum var.

Floral scent of artificial hybrids between two Schiedea species that share a moth pollinator

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise In flowering plants, pollinators' ability to recognize chemical displays of hybrids may erode reproductive barriers. Hybrids may produce novel or altered floral scent blends that are unattractive, or scents similar to either parent that remain attractive and promote backcrossing.

An NPF Transporter Exports a Central Monoterpene Indole Alkaloid Intermediate from the Vacuole

open access: yesNature Plants, 2016
Plants sequester intermediates of metabolic pathways into different cellular compartments, but the mechanisms by which these molecules are transported remain poorly understood.
