Males of the tropical frog Gephyromantis granulatus carry unique ethyl‐branched sesquiterpenoid macrolactones in their scent glands. Their structure elucidation was performed by GC/MS, leading to the proposed structures of the granolides. A flexible enantioselective synthesis confirmed the structures and allowed determination of their absolute ...

Ultrasound‐assisted extraction (UAE) of seabuckthorn seed oil enhanced yield (17.95%), antioxidant activity (IC50: 5.25 μg/mL), and carotenoid content (266.63 mg/100 g). The oil, rich in unsaturated fatty acids (83.15%), exhibited superior quality, thermal stability, and potential applications in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, making UAE a ...

Effects of dietary monounsaturated fatty acids on plasma lipids in humans.
In order to test whether monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA, M) would lower plasma cholesterol and/or triglycerides (TG), 14 young men were studied in a metabolism ward. They were given two experimental diets with the same P/S ratio (P: polyunsaturated; S:
