Synthesis of aminothiazole derived morphinans
Tetrahedron Letters, 2003Two aminothiazole derived morphinans 9 and 11 were prepared for our ongoing opioid ligands study. The synthesis was initiated from levorphanol 1, which was first triflated, and then subjected to Pd-catalyzed reduction followed by nitration. The resulting two nitrated isomers were characterized by analogy to known compounds.

Helvetica Chimica Acta, 2003AbstractThe two diastereoisomeric ferrocenyl‐substituted orvinols 2 and 3 were prepared. The modified alkaloids are still able to interact with opioid receptors (see Table). The ferrocene moiety allows highly selective and sensitive electrochemical detection. The X‐ray crystal structure of the major isomer 2 was determined.

Two new morphinane alkaloids from Sinomenium acutum
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2011Two new morphinane alkaloids, 1-hydroxy-10-oxo-sinomenine (1) and 4,5-epoxy-14-hydroxy sinomenine N-oxide (2), have been isolated from the stems of Sinomenium acutum. Their structures were established by various spectral analyses, especially 2D NMR experiments. The structure of 2 was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
