Delirium‐associated medication in people at risk: A systematic update review, meta‐analyses, and GRADE‐profiles

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 147, Issue 1, Page 16-42, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Drug‐associated delirium is a common but potentially preventable neuropsychiatric syndrome associated with detrimental outcomes. Empirical evidence for delirium‐associated medication is uncertain due to a lack of high‐quality studies.

Conditional and marginal relative risk parameters for a class of recursive regression graph models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In linear regression modelling the distortion of effects after marginalizing over variables of the conditioning set has been widely studied in several contexts. For Gaussian variables, the relationship between marginal and partial regression coefficients is well-established and the issue is often addressed as a result of W. G. Cochran.

Rapid Analytical Method for Quantification of Gamma‐Hydroxybutyrate (GHB) in Hair by UPLC‐MS/MS

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
A rapid and simple UPLC‐MS/MS method for quantification of GHB in 10 mg of hair was developed. The method was satisfactorily validated, showing a linear range of 0.5–50 ng/mg, which allows us to quantify endogenous and exogenous GHB concentrations.

Deep Reinforcement Learning for Optimal Critical Care Pain Management with Morphine using Dueling Double-Deep Q Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Opioids are the preferred medications for the treatment of pain in the intensive care unit. While undertreatment leads to unrelieved pain and poor clinical outcomes, excessive use of opioids puts patients at risk of experiencing multiple adverse effects.

Comparison between Acute and Long-Term Effects of Verapamil on Naloxane Induced Morphine Withdrawal in Mice

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2004
Background: There is growing evidence indicating that neuronal calcium channels play an important role in the mechanism of Morphine dependence. Objective: To investigate the acute and long-term effects of Verapamil in Morphine dependent mice.

Effect of intrauterine morphine sulfate exposure on cerebellar histomorphological changes in neonatal mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Neurotoxic effects of morphine sulfate in adult cerebellar cortex and neonatal cerebral cortex have been studied in animal models. This study was done to determine the neurotoxic effects of prenatal morphine exposure on the histo morphological changes of

ABCC3 and OCT1 genotypes influence pharmacokinetics of morphine in children.

open access: yesPharmacogenomics (London), 2014
AIM Large interindividual variability in morphine pharmacokinetics could contribute to variability in morphine analgesia and adverse events. METHODS Influence of weight, genetic polymorphisms, race and sex on morphine clearance and metabolite formation

UHPLC‐QTOFMS Urine Drug Screening With Dilute‐and‐Shoot Sample Preparation and Vacuum‐Insulated Probe‐Heated Electrospray Ionization

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
The new ionization technique, vacuum‐insulated probe‐heated electrospray, allows for a simple dilute‐and‐shoot sample preparation to be used with liquid chromatography time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry in urine drug screening. Comparison with a method relying on solid‐phase extraction and conventional electrospray ionization shows improved performance ...

A lipidated peptide derived from the C-terminal tail of the vasopressin 2 receptor shows promise as a new $β$-arrestin inhibitor [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacological Research, 2025, 107597
$\beta$-arrestins play pivotal roles in seven transmembrane receptor (7TMR) signalling and trafficking. To study their functional role in the regulation of specific receptor systems, current research relies mainly on genetic tools, as few pharmacological options are available.
