Comparing leukocyte‐ and thrombocyte‐rich fibrin and autologous grafts for the treatment of experimentally induced wounds in the tarsometatarsus of chickens

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Managing open wounds in birds is challenging. This study compared leukocyte‐ and thrombocyte‐rich fibrin (L‐TRF) and autologous grafts for treating wounds in the tarsometatarsus of chickens. Methods Full‐thickness wounds were experimentally induced in the tarsometatarsus of 23 healthy adult chickens.

Computational logP Calculations and Determination of Lipophilicity Values of Fluorinated Morphine Derivatives

open access: yes
The addictive effect of opioids impacted 60 million people globally in 2023. This opioid crisis necessitates the development of opioid derivatives that maintain analgesic efficacy while minimizing addictive effects from opioid use.

Biochemical and pharmacological studies of morphine-6-glucuronide and related compounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Morphine-6-glucuronide is a minor metabolite. representing 5% of an administered dose of morphine. The metabolite has analgesic activity exceeding that of morphine and may contribute to analgesia following morphine administration.

Impact of general anaesthesia on immune response to first rabies vaccination in seronegative domestic cats

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Despite common concerns, evidence that anaesthesia impairs vaccine efficacy remains limited. This study assessed the impact of general anaesthesia on the immune response to rabies vaccination in cats. Methods Thirty‐five healthy female cats (6–12 months old) undergoing elective spaying were enrolled.

Investigation of eosin Y as a colorimetric sensor for the detection of fentanyl hydrochloride and fentanyl freebase

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract The increasing prevalence of fentanyl within the illegal global drug market underscores the need for rapid, low‐cost, and straightforward detection methods. Eosin Y demonstrates a measurable color change in the presence of fentanyl, making it a promising candidate for colorimetric sensing and preliminary identification of fentanyl ...

Synthesis and evaluation of the analgesic activity of some new isoxazolo[4,5-d]pyridazin-4(5H)-one derivatives

open access: yes, 2011
Some isoxazolo[4,5-d] pyridazin4(5H)-one derivatives were synthesized and tested for their analgesic activity. The analgesic activities of the compounds were determined by hot-plate and acetic acid writhing tests using morphine and diclofenac as ...

Search for Effective Antibodies to Morphine Derivatives

open access: yesJournal Biomed
A scheme for immunization of goats with morphine derivatives conjugated with bovine serum albumin (BSA) is proposed. It was shown that antibodies to morphine are formed in high titers in blood serum (2×10–6) and goat milk (1×10–4). The specificity of antibodies to morphine was confirmed using ELISA and Western blot methods.
