Passenger Estimation using Moving Horizon Optimization
Urban Metro rail systems are subject to high and growing demand as the populations of major cities increase. A point may be reached where improving system management using advanced control is more attractive than expanding the network. Control schemes for strengthening system performance and therefore user satisfaction typically involve measuring ...

Path design and receding horizon control for collision avoidance system of cars [PDF]
The paper deals with path design and control realization problems of collision avoidance systems (CAS) of cars (ground vehicles). CAS emergency path design is based on the principle of elastic band with improved reaction forces for road borders and ...

A bespoke multilayer thin film configuration has been designed, which overcomes the material dependency of conventional isotope exchange Raman spectroscopy (IERS). This universal IERS methodology is efficient, non‐destructive and provides additional structural information and time resolution, which can be further extended to various isotopic elements ...

Differentiable Algorithm Networks for Composable Robot Learning
This paper introduces the Differentiable Algorithm Network (DAN), a composable architecture for robot learning systems. A DAN is composed of neural network modules, each encoding a differentiable robot algorithm and an associated model; and it is trained

Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles Based on Carbon Nanotube Yarns and Eutectogel Derivatives
Solid‐state artificial muscles based on coiled commercial carbon nanotube yarns coated with eutectogel derivatives exhibit unipolar actuation through selective ion intercalation. Combining polyanionic and polycationic gels enables enhanced contractile stroke and high energy density.

Local Thermal Conductivity Patterning in Rotating Lattice Crystals of Anisotropic Sb2S3
Microscale control of thermal conductivity in Sb2S3 is demonstrated via laser‐induced rotating lattice crystals. Thermal conductivity imaging reveals marked thermal transport anisotropy, with the c axis featuring amorphous‐like transport, whereas in‐plane directions (a, b) exhibit 3.5x and 1.7x larger thermal conductivity.
