Process Identification in On-line Optimizing Control, an Application to a Heat Pump [PDF]
The objective of this paper is to focus on on-line state and parameter estimation in connection with on-line model-based optimizing control of continuous processes.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Robust Moving Horizon Estimation for Lateral Vehicle Dynamics
This paper deals with the problem of robust stability analysis of Moving Horizon Estimator~(MHE) for Linear Parameter Varying~(LPV) systems. We introduced novel stability analysis tools which guarantee exponential robust convergence of the MHE under the incremental Exponential Input-Output-to-State Stability~(i-EIOSS) assumption without observability ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

MAP Moving Horizon state estimation with binary measurements [PDF]
The paper addresses state estimation for discrete-time systems with binary (threshold) measurements by following a Maximum A posteriori Probability (MAP) approach and exploiting a Moving Horizon (MH) approximation of the MAP cost-function. It is shown that, for a linear system and noise distributions with log-concave probability density function, the ...

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Parameter and State Estimation of One-Dimensional Infiltration Processes: A Simultaneous Approach
The Richards equation plays an important role in the study of agro-hydrological systems. It models the water movement in soil in the vadose zone, which is driven by capillary and gravitational forces.
