Pelvic morphology and body size in relation to the preauricular sulcus: Evidence from medieval to modern Iberia

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The preauricular sulcus has long been debated as a pelvic feature variably attributed to obstetric stress, ligamentous traction, and broader biomechanical processes. To clarify its determinants, we analyzed 409 adult individuals from three archeological and one early modern skeletal collection from the Iberian Peninsula, integrating graded ...

Comparative analysis of cytoarchitectonic and neurochemical aspects of the globus pallidus in the rock cavy (Kerodon rupestris) and the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The globus pallidus (GP), a subcortical structure within the basal ganglia, plays a crucial role in modulating cortico‐subcortical circuits related to motor control and associative/limbic functions. However, the cytoarchitectonic and neurochemical organization of this structure remains poorly characterized in naturally existing wild‐type ...

Gene editing rescue of a novel MPL mutant associated with congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia

open access: yesBlood Advances, 2017
: Thrombopoietin (Tpo) and its receptor (Mpl) are the principal regulators of early and late thrombopoiesis and hematopoietic stem cell maintenance. Mutations in MPL can drastically impair its function and be a contributing factor in multiple hematologic

Ex-situ visualization of the wet domain in the microporous layer in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell by X-ray computed tomography under water vapor supply

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2020
The wet domain in a microporous layer (MPL) in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) was visualized in order to clarify water accumulation in the MPL. The performance of PEFC is affected by accumulation of liquid water in the cathode gas diffusion layer

Pharmacokinetics and safety of a modified‐release psilocybin formulation: A SAD Phase I trial in normal‐weight and overweight/obese participants

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims This study aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a novel oral modified‐release psilocybin formulation (REL‐P11) in normal‐weight and overweight/obese healthy adults and to assess its suitability for controlled, subperceptual exposure, in light of emerging evidence supporting serotonergic modulation in metabolic ...

Nonfamilial, MPL S505N-Mutated Essential Thrombocythaemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Mutations of MPL are present in a significant proportion of patients with the myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), primary myelofibrosis (PMF), and essential thrombocythaemia (ET). The most frequent of these mutations, W515L and W515K, occur in exon 10 of

Locking Ni Atoms in Ordered PtNi for Durable Hydrogen Production: From Electrocatalyst Design to Practical AEMWE Stack Validation

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
DFT‐guided atomic ordering of PtNi intermetallic catalysts enhances HER activity and durability by optimizing hydrogen adsorption and increasing dissolution potential. Experimental validation from half‐cell to practical AEMWE stack demonstrates outstanding performance with less than 2% degradation over 3,000 h.

CD34 Antigen and the MPL Receptor Expression Defines a Novel Class of Human Cord Blood-Derived Primitive Hematopoietic Stem Cells

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2017
In the murine hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) compartment, thrombopoietin (THPO)/MPL (THPO receptor) signaling plays an important role in the maintenance of adult quiescent HSCs.

Durable Fuel Cell Cathode Enabled by Pt Embedded Nanoscale Carbon Network via a Scalable Process

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Platinum nanoparticles embedded nanoscale carbon network (Pt‐e‐Cn) are developed via a scalable flame spray pyrolysis process. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) employing mesoporous Pt‐e‐Cn cathode electrocatalysts exhibit exceptional durability without compromising performance.
