In Vivo Microplastic Detection With Photoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics are posing an escalating threat to both ecological systems and human health. Yet, current methods for investigating their bioaccumulation are highly invasive, requiring destructive analysis of ex vivo tissues via mass spectrometry, dye labelling, or Raman microspectroscopy.

Mechanically Interlocked Indigo Photoswitches

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
By incorporating indigo photoswitches into the axle of a rotaxane, which features a hydrogen bonding macrocycle, we demonstrate improvement in activation wavelength, photostationary states and thermal reversion, an effect that is governed by topologically constrained supramolecular interactions.

Strongly Scale-Dependent Charge Transport From Interconnections of Silicon Quantum Dots and Nanowires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present the first characterization of strongly scale-dependent charge transport of a unique, hierarchical complex topology: an interconnected random network of silicon quantum dots (QDs) and nanowires. We show that this specific topology has different

A Viscous DES‐AAV‐Foxo1 Delivery System With High Transfection Efficiency for the Treatment of Corneal Endothelial Dysfunction by Restoring Mitochondria‐ER Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High glucose triggers corneal endothelial dysfunction by impairing FOXO1‐mediated ITPR1 transcription, leading to disrupted mitochondria‐associated membrane (MAM) integrity and defective ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer. This study develops an innovative viscous DES‐AAV‐Foxo1 delivery system with enhanced transfection efficiency. This non‐invasive gene

Localized Accumulation of Tri‐n‐Propylamine Prolongs Electrochemiluminescence for Tumor Model Spheroid Analysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Here, we enhance the electrochemiluminescence imaging of cellular spheroids using [Ru(bpy)3]2+/TPrA chemistry. Our strategy, which involves pre‐incubation with TPrA, enables high‐resolution, long‐term visualization of cellular spheroids without phototoxicity.

Three-Dimensional Mesoscopic DEM Modeling and Compressive Behavior of Macroporous Recycled Concrete

open access: yesBuildings
The mesoscopic-scale discrete element method (DEM) modeling approach demonstrated high compatibility with macroporous recycled concrete (MRC). However, existing DEM models failed to adequately balance modeling accuracy and computational efficiency for ...

Prevalence of cognitive impairment: results from the MRC trial of assessment and management of older people in the community.

open access: yes, 2005
BACKGROUND: cognitive impairment is an important part of the diagnostic criteria for dementia. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) is recommended to test for cognitive impairment and to monitor medication response.

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.
