Engineering Lipid Nanoparticles for Precision RNA Delivery: Design Principles, Targeting Strategies, and Clinical Prospects

open access: yesCancer Nexus, Volume 2, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) represent the most clinically advanced platform for RNA delivery and have enabled major breakthroughs in vaccines and gene therapies. However, their broader application is still limited by inefficient extrahepatic delivery, immunogenicity, and insufficient control over tissue‐ and cell‐specific targeting. This review

A review of the immunogenicity and safety of booster doses of omicron variant-containing mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccines in adults and children

open access: yesExpert Review of Vaccines
Introduction Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 is an integral pillar of the public health approach to COVID-19. With the emergence of variants of concern that increase transmissibility and escape from vaccine- or infection-induced protection, vaccines have ...

From Immunization to Autoimmunity: A Deep Dive Into Post‐COVID‐19 Vaccine Reactions—A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Coronavirus disease‐2019 (COVID‐19) emerged in 2019 from Wuhan, China, leading to the accelerated development of vaccines, which have proven instrumental in controlling the spread of the virus. While vaccination ceased the increasing trend of the viral infection, rare adverse autoimmune events emerged as important ...

Time and cost of administering COVID-19 mRNA vaccines in the United States

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2021
In early 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak a global pandemic. In response, two novel messenger RNA (mRNA)-based vaccines: mRNA-1273 (Moderna) and BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) were rapidly ...

Premixed Lidocaine With Fospropofol Disodium for Safety and Clinical Evaluation Regarding Paresthesia Upon Fospropofol Disodium Injection: A Preclinical Experimental Study and a Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study explored the effect of lidocaine premixing on fospropofol‐induced paresthesia. While the mixture of fospropofol (FP) and lidocaine (LD) proved chemically stable and safe in preclinical tests, clinical results from randomized controlled trial showed no reduction in paresthesia in FP+LD group compared with FP+NS group.

Comparative mRNA booster effectiveness against death or hospitalization with COVID-19 pneumonia across at-risk US Veteran populations

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Studies of comparative mRNA booster effectiveness among high-risk populations can inform mRNA booster-specific guidelines. The study emulated a target trial of COVID-19 vaccinated U.S.

Factors Associated With Self‐Medication to Mitigate Vaccine Reactions After COVID‐19 Vaccination: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Management of vaccine reactions with analgesics/antipyretics can enhance acceptance and adherence to future vaccinations. However, inappropriate self‐medication may pose health risks, particularly for individuals with chronic conditions.

Moderna (mRNA-1273) Covid-19 Vaccine, “A Systematic Review” [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
A Global pandemic, declared by WHO, caused due to a deadly virus known as a “SARS-Cov-2”, has resulted in 4.3 million deaths. Its RNA based genome and lack of proofreading ability has made this virus more prone to get the frequent mutations and results ...

Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) 9 Outperforms BMP2 in Osteogenesis and Osseointegration: In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesClinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, Volume 28, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study compared the osteogenic mechanisms and preclinical efficacy of bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9) and BMP2 in vitro and in a beagle peri‐implant defect model in vivo. Materials and Methods In vitro, MC3T3‐E1 preosteoblasts were treated with BMP2 or BMP9 to assess osteogenic gene expression (Col1, Runx2, Alp, Ocn) by real‐
