Molecular analysis of the evolutionary history of endometrial and ovarian carcinoma in Lynch syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 157, Issue 11, Page 2294-2308, 1 December 2025.
What's New? Lynch syndrome is a prevalent cause of hereditary gynecological cancers, but the timeline of molecular alterations preceding malignancy remains unclear. By studying consecutive surveillance specimens for up to 15 years before cancer diagnosis, the authors found that atypical endometrial hyperplasia was indistinguishable from endometrial and

Context is key: how diagnostic and prognostic markers are reshaping gynecologic pathology

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Abstract The field of gynecologic pathology is undergoing a transformative change. The translation of molecular findings from large‐scale genomic studies into clinical practice has been facilitated by robust surrogate assays, particularly immunohistochemistry (IHC).

Podoplanin Expression and the Risk of Malignant Transformation of Oral Pre‐Malignant Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 47, Issue 11, Page 3185-3192, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Podoplanin is a mucin‐like transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in oral epithelium with a documented role in cell motility, tumorigenesis, tumor invasion, and metastasis. Podoplanin is a potentially valuable biomarker for determining malignant transformation of oral premalignant disease (OPMD).

Classification of prostatic adenocarcinoma as favourable/unfavourable histology has high interobserver agreement in prostate needle core biopsies

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 87, Issue 5, Page 717-725, November 2025.
The classification of prostatic adenocarcinoma as favourable/unfavourable histology was recently proposed as an optimized method for predicting metastatic risk. We demonstrate high interobserver agreement among 10 pathologists after reviewing a simple tutorial.
