EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Multi-scale Salient Feature Extraction on Mesh Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a new method of extracting multi-scale salient features on meshes. It is based on robust estimation of curvature on multiple scales. The coincidence between salient feature and the scale of interest can be established straightforwardly, where detailed feature appears on small scale and feature with more global shape information shows up on ...

EEG Identity Authentication in Multi-Domain Features: A Multi-Scale 3D-CNN Approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics, 2022
Electroencephalogram (EEG) authentication has become a research hotspot in the field of information security due to its advantages of living, internal, and anti-stress. However, the performance of identity authentication system is limited by the inherent

Multi-Scale Curvatures for Contour Feature Extraction

open access: yesTransactions of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, 1988
A method is described to extract features of contour of a figure based on its curvature. For a digital figure, curvatures are approximated by using differences of contour tangential angles at two points apart from each other with an appropriate distance scale. In this method, a set of curvatures with various scales is calculated, and from the curvature

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Multi-scale fusion visual attention network for facial micro-expression recognition

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2023
IntroductionMicro-expressions are facial muscle movements that hide genuine emotions. In response to the challenge of micro-expression low-intensity, recent studies have attempted to locate localized areas of facial muscle movement. However, this ignores

Multi-Scale Feature Aligned for Object Detection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gaming and Computer-Mediated Simulations
Existing object detection methods face challenges in multi-scale detection, especially in simulation environments with large object size variability. First, feature differences across scales hinder matching and affect accuracy. Second, inconsistent features prevent full use of multi-scale information, reducing performance.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...
