An Explicit, Compact, and Rotation‐Agnostic Formulation for Equivalent Nodal Loads for Point‐Loaded Beams

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 7, 15 April 2026.
ABSTRACT In time‐marching dynamical simulations, treatment of contact forces in deformable bodies represented by finite element meshes requires a compromise between simulation fidelity and computational costs. External forces directly evaluated at the mesh nodes offer better computational performance at the cost of modelling fidelity.

Spatial operator algebra framework for multibody system dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes
The Spatial Operator Algebra framework for the dynamics of general multibody systems is described. The use of a spatial operator-based methodology permits the formulation of the dynamical equations of motion of multibody systems in a concise and ...

Multibody Multipole Methods

open access: yes, 2012
A three-body potential function can account for interactions among triples of particles which are uncaptured by pairwise interaction functions such as Coulombic or Lennard-Jones potentials.

Enabling Digital Continuity in Virtual Manufacturing for Eco‐Efficiency Assessment of Lightweight Structures by Means of a Domain‐Specific Structural Mechanics Language: Requirements, Idea and Proof of Concept

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 7, 8 April 2026.
This article presents a solver‐agnostic domain‐specific language (DSL) for computational structural mechanics that strengthens interoperability in virtual product development. Using a hierarchical data model, the DSL enables seamless exchange between diverse simulation tools and numerical methods.

Modeling of control forces for kinematical constraints in the dynamics of multibody systems: A new approach [PDF]

open access: yes
Conventionally kinematical constraints in multibody systems are treated similar to geometrical constraints and are modeled by constraint reaction forces which are perpendicular to constraint surfaces.

Modeling Stiffness and Damping in Rotational Degrees of Freedom Using Multibond Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A contribution is proposed for the modeling of mechanical systems using multibond graphs. When modeling a physical system, it may be needed to catch the dynamic behavior contribution of the joints between bodies of the system and therefore to ...
