On the production of multicharge ions in planetary nebulae [PDF]
AbstractProduction of multicharge ions due to generation of hot expanding plasma blobs, short-living “compound particles”, at high-velocity collisions between dust grains of a planetary nebula and dust particles of the interstellar medium is analytically considered.

ABSTRACT Thermo‐responsive hydrogels based on poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) are promising candidates for soft actuation, yet their practical applications are often constrained by sluggish thermo‐responsive kinetics and insufficient mechanical robustness.

Electron Impact Ionization of Multicharged Ions
The available literature on electron impact ionization of ions of charge + 3 or greater is reviewed. Several easily used formulae are presented-the classical result, the Lotz formula, and a scaled Coulomb-Born prescription. The available experimental cross-sections, which now include a few good quality crossed-beams measurements, are compared with the ...

THE FORMATION OF TiO NANOCLUSTERS IN THE SURFACE LASER PLASMA WHEN TITANIUM AND BARIUM TITANATE ARE SUBJECTED TO THE EFFECT OF DOUBLE LASER PULSES [PDF]
The effect of an additional laser pulse on the formation of the composition and charge state of the surface laser plasma was studied by the laser spark spectrometry (LSS) method.

Savannah and Boreal Biomass Burning as a Source for Cloud Condensation Nuclei
Abstract Aerosol particles emitted in wildfires can contribute to radiative forcing via aerosol‐cloud interactions and by directly interacting with solar radiation. Wildfire emissions increase the concentration of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) in the atmosphere and thus affect cloud properties (e.g., cloud brightness).

Confined thermal multicharged ions produced by synchrotron radiation [PDF]
Synchrotron x rays have been used to produce a confined multicharged ion gas near room temperature. Comparison of charge-state-number observations characteristic of ion formation and of ion storage, together with measurements of Ar-to-Ar/sup q/ electron-transfer rate coefficients, provide information to estimate time constants for relaxation to thermal
