Computing Multidimensional Persistence

open access: yes, 2010
The theory of multidimensional persistence captures the topology of a multifiltration -- a multiparameter family of increasing spaces. Multifiltrations arise naturally in the topological analysis of scientific data.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Cubic systems with invariant affine straight lines of total parallel multiplicity seven

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
Summary: In this article, we study planar cubic differential systems with invariant affine straight lines of total parallel multiplicity seven. We classify these system according to their geometric properties encoded in the configurations of invariant straight lines.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Digital Self-Interference Cancellation Strategies for In-Band Full-Duplex: Methods and Comparisons

open access: yesSensors
In-band full-duplex (IBFD) communication systems offer a promising means of improving spectral efficiency by enabling simultaneous transmission and reception on the same frequency channel.

The role of lipid metabolism in neuronal senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Disrupted lipid metabolism, through alterations in lipid species or lipid droplet accumulation, can drive neuronal senescence. However, lipid dyshomeostasis can also occur alongside neuronal senescence, further amplifying tissue damage. Delineating how lipid‐induced senescence emerges in neurons and glial cells, and how it contributes to ageing and ...

$${\mathbb{Z}}/2$$ Z / 2 topological invariants and the half quantized Hall effect

open access: yesCommunications Physics
The half-quantized Hall phase represents a unique metallic or semi-metallic state of matter characterized by a fractional quantum Hall conductance, precisely half of an integer ν multiple of e 2/h. Here we demonstrate the existence of a $${\mathbb{Z}}/2$$

Quartic differential systems with an invariant straight line of maximal multiplicity

open access: yes, 2018
Summary: In this work we show that in the class of quartic differential systems the maximal algebraic multiplicity \(M_a\) of an invariant straight line is equal to 10.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...
