Private mutual authentications with fuzzy matching

International Journal of High Performance Systems Architecture, 2014
A private mutual authentication, or unlinkable secret handshake, originally allows two members from the same organisations to anonymously authenticate each other. In this paper, a new privacy-preserving mutual authentication protocol is constructed to achieve fuzzy private matching.

Physically secure mutual authentication for IoT

2017 IEEE Conference on Dependable and Secure Computing, 2017
Many devices in the Internet of things (IoT) have special and challenging design requirements including limited size, energy, storage, and processing capabilities. Moreover, many IoT devices may be deployed in the open and in public places, making them vulnerable to physical and cloning attacks.

A Lightweight Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID

2013
In order to protect the tag and its communication, the authentication between the tag and the reader as well as its backend database is necessary. The paper proposed a mutual authentication protocol by introducing pointer and check number pool which make a simple random number to hide the ID information and disturb the static answers in challenge ...

Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID System

2011 14th IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering, 2011
Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is a leading automatic identification technology. The main technology components of an RFID system are a tag, reader, and database. The use of tags and databases raises significant impact on security considerations associated to the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of the data on the tags, in the ...

Efficient Ultralightweight RFID Mutual Authentication

2014 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things(iThings), and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom), 2014
In the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system, the communication between the reader and tags is vulnerable to attacks due to the nature of RF signals. Typical attacks include the forged-server, forged-tag, man-in-the-middle (MitM), tracking, replay, forward secrecy and denial of service (DoS) attacks.

Secure mutual authentication for IPTV broadcasting

2012 International Conference on ICT Convergence (ICTC), 2012
IPTV is an emerging technology that combines both broadcasting and telecommunication. In the digital contents distribution environment, a user authentication is an important security primitive which allows only authenticated user to use the provided service by checking the validity of the membership.

Mutual Authentication in Electronic Voting Schemes

2018 16th Annual Conference on Privacy, Security and Trust (PST), 2018
Voter eligibility is an important requirement of electronic voting which prevents double voting and voter impersonation. Many e-voting schemes assume a trustworthy environment for vote casting and tallying hence trust pollworkers to correctly authenticate voters.

Mutual-Authentication Mechanism for RFID Systems

2006
The biggest challenge for current RFID technology is to provide the necessary benefits while avoiding any threats to the privacy of its users. Although many solutions to this problem have been proposed, almost as soon as they have been introduced, methods have been found to circumvent system security and make the user vulnerable.

Mutual Authentication and Key Agreement for GSM

2006 International Conference on Mobile Business, 2006
We propose an efficient identity based mutual authentication scheme for GSM. In the proposed scheme, mobile station (MS) and visitor location register (VLR) authenticate each other and establish a session key to communicate securely for every communication. Our scheme requires less bandwidth and storage.

A Hybrid Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID

2012
Out of the large number of RFID security protocols proposed in recent years none have proven to be truly secure and the creation of a truly secure security protocol for systems employing low cost RFID tags remains an open problem. In this paper we develop and present a RFID security protocol which not only allows mutual authentication and secure ...
