[Elimination of N,N-dimethyltryptamine by urine].

Acta psiquiatrica y psicologica de America latina, 1994
N,N-dimethiltryptamine (DMT) in urine has been quantified on an 83-psychiatric patient sample. Sample covered patients who had sometimes been administered neuroleptic drugs as well as patients with some particular symptomatology associated to psychotic disorders such as hallucinations, delusions, perception disorders, etc. 43.3% (36 cases) evidenced an

A comparison of the behavioral effects of proteo- and deutero-N, N-dimethyltryptamine

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1982
The behavioral effects of N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and α, α, β, β-tetradeutero-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (D4DMT) at dose levels of 2.5 and 5.0 mg/kg were examined in rats on a food reinforced schedule. The D4DMT was observed to produce a significantly greater disruption of behavior, have a longer duration of action and a shorter time to onset than DMT.

N,N-dimethyltryptamine like substance in rat brain

Life Sciences, 1973
Abstract Rat brain contains 8 μg/g of a tertiary amine, very probably N,N-dimethyltryptamine as shown by bidimensional thin layer and gas ohromatography. Pretreatment with Nialamide did not modify the concentration of this substance in the brain.

PHARMACOKINETICS OF N,N-DIMETHYLTRYPTAMINE FUMARATE IN HUMANS

2022
Aim: N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a psychedelic compound under development for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). This study evaluated the in vitro metabolism and clinical pharmacokinetics (PK) of DMT fumarate (SPL026) in healthy subjects.

The psychedelic model of schizophrenia: the case of N,N- dimethyltryptamine

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1976
The authors review the research on N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) as a possible "schizotoxin." DMT produces psychedelic effects when administered to normal subjects, the means are present to synthesize it in man, it has occasionally been found in man, and tolerance to its behavioral effects is incomplete.

Studies on several 7-substituted N,N-dimethyltryptamines

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1980
Several 7-substituted derivatives of N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) were prepared and evaluated in the rat fundus serotonin receptor assay and in a behavioral (discriminative stimulus) assay in rats. Both 7-Me- and 5-OMe-7-Me-DMT possess a higher pA2, and 5,7-(OMe)2-DMT a lower pA2, than that of DMT itself.

Persistent Tinnitus after Inhaled N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT)

Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, 2020
This case report describes a 39-year-old male with remote history of polysubstance use disorder and depression who developed tinnitus after use of inhaled N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT). Although development of ear ringing was attributed to use on a single occasion, tinnitus occurred within the context of a larger self-experiment involving weekly ...

Increased synthesis of striatal dopamine by N,N-dimethyltryptamine

Life Sciences, 1977
Abstract The effect of acute doses of N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) on the synthesis or degradation rates of rat diencephalon norepinephrine and striatal dopamine was estimated by administering 150 μCi L-tyrosine-3,5- 3 H at various times before sacrifice. In all cases DMT, 20 mg/kg, was injected one-half hour before sacrifice.

Effects of N, N-Dimethyltryptamine on behavioural habituation in the rat

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1977
The processes involved in habituation and the various ways drugs might affect habituation are discussed. Exploration was measured in a holehoard and N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT, 4 mg/kg) profoundly reduced the level of exploration, precluding any conclusions about the rate of habituation with this dose.

The effects of N,N-dimethyltryptamine on operant behavior in squirrel monkeys

Psychopharmacologia, 1973
Five squirrel monkeys were trained to stable levels of performance on fixed ratio schedules of food reinforcement. N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) was then injected intramuscularly prior to fixed ratio testing and the behavioral effects observed. The determination of dose-response relationships with doses of 0.0, 5.4 and 10.8 Μmoles/kg indicated that ...
