5‐Substituted 2‐(naphthalen‐2‐yl)‐4H‐chromen‐4‐ones are reported as a novel class of highly potent and selective triplex DNA ligands. These ligands induce triplex formation at submicromolar concentrations and inhibit enzymatic activity via ligand‐mediated triplex formation.

Crystallization of Cathode Active Material Precursors from Tartaric Acid Solution
This work investigates a novel approach for closing the gap between recycling and production of lithium‐ion battery cathode material. The new concept is based on antisolvent crystallization of metal carboxylates, which can be directly used as precursors in production of cathode material.

Investigation into the role of an extracellular loop in mediating proton-evoked inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels [PDF]
Proton-evoked activation of sensory neurons is counteracted by inhibition of voltage-gated Na+ channels, and the low acid-sensitivity of sensory neuron of the African naked mole-rat (ANMr) was reported to be due to a strong proton-evoked block of ...

Carbon Dots: An Emerging Frontier for Green and Sustainable Civil Engineering Materials
Traditional civil engineering materials (CE materials) are usually involved with high‐energy consumption during manufacturing, significant maintenance costs, and substantial environmental impacts throughout their life cycles. The progress of nanotechnology is catalyzing a green and sustainable transformation within the field.

Division of labour and risk taking in the dinosaur ant, Dinoponera quadriceps [PDF]
The success of social insects can be largely attributed to division of labour. In contrast to most social insects, many species with simple societies contain workers which are capable of sexual reproduction.

Flexible Phase Change Bandage Incorporated With Zeolite for Temperature‐Controlled Wound Hemostasis
A novel flexible hemostatic phase change bandage (HPB) was designed and constructed through chemical cross‐linking and electrospinning to mitigate thermal injury and broaden the application of PCMs in the medical field. Furthermore, the flexible HPB shows thermal stability, strong mechanical strength, excellent infiltration, and reliable thermal ...

Spray‐flame synthesis enables highly flexible and scalable production of multinary and high‐entropy oxide nanoparticles due to high synthesis temperatures with subsequent quenching. Temperature‐dependent in situ diffraction of as‐synthesized materials clearly reveals entropy stabilization in rock salt lattices, while spinels—featuring tetrahedral and ...

Abstract BACKGROUND Climate change and population growth are major challenges for sustainable food production, particularly in regions affected by water scarcity and soil salinization. In this context, halophytes represent promising candidates as alternative and sustainable food crops for salt‐affected areas.

ABSTRACT Forest ecosystems play a critical role in the global carbon cycle. As a significant terrestrial carbon sink, plantations exhibit carbon stock patterns that are shaped by tree species composition, stand structure, and environmental conditions. Here, we investigated typical plantation types in the Mufu Mountain, Hubei Province.
