Neovascular age‐related macular degeneration without drusen
Abstract Purpose To describe the clinical characteristics and 1‐year follow‐up of patients with neovascular AMD (nAMD) without drusen in either eye. Methods This is a multicentre retrospective cohort study in three tertiary referral centres in The Netherlands. We included patients of 55 years or older with nAMD in one or both eyes, without the presence

The prechoroidal cleft in neovascular age‐related macular degeneration
Abstract The prechoroidal cleft is a lenticular, hypo‐reflective space on optical coherence tomography imaging, located between a band of fibrovascular material underneath the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and Bruch's membrane. It occurs in 8%–22% of neovascular age‐related macular degeneration (nAMD) eyes, most often with macular neovascularization

A serum metabolomics study of patients with nAMD in response to anti-VEGF therapy
Intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) is the current standard of treatment for choroidal neovascularization (CNV) secondary to neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), but there are no diagnostic tools ...
