Mechanically Regulated Nanozymes for Remote Metabolic Reprogramming and Precise Cancer Therapy
Inspired by mechanoenzymes, a ferrocene‐based mechanically regulated nanozyme converts acoustic shear force into enhanced peroxidase‐like activity by decreasing electron density and alleviating steric hindrance at the Fe active sites, thereby rewiring redox homeostasis. Leveraging this remote regulatory mechanism, a multienzyme‐regulated nanoreactor is

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Mesoblends consist of a nanostructured polymer into which a second polymer is imbibed with a selective solvent. In this work, a solvent‐templatable pentablock terpolymer possessing a sulfonated midblock is modified with a hydrophilic polymer that is photocrosslinked in situ, yielding a hierarchical binetwork.

The mechanism of recrystallization of carbon steels
A nanostructural mechanism for recrystallization of carbon steels has been developed. First, structure‑forming nanocrystals of austenite, ferrite and cementite are formed from elementary nanocrystals of iron and graphite, free iron and carbon atoms.

Nanoscale modifications in the early heating stages of bone are heterogeneous at the microstructural scale. [PDF]
Nanoscale studies of bone provide key indicators to evidence subtle structural changes that may occur in the biomedical, forensic and archaeological contexts.

Systematic numerical investigation of the role of hierarchy in heterogeneous bio-inspired materials [PDF]
It is well known that hierarchical structure is an important feature in biological materials to optimise various properties, including mechanical ones. It is however still unclear how these hierarchical architectures can improve material characteristics,

Mechanically Programmable DNA Hydrogel Microparticles for 3D Cellular Systems
DNA hydrogel microparticles are designed to exhibit controllable viscoelasticity and stiffness across three orders of magnitude from 30Pa$30 \,\mathrm{Pa}$ to 6.5kPa$6.5 \,\mathrm{kPa}$. They are uptaken into fibroblast spheroids where they are actively remodeled by cellular forces depending on their mechanical properties.

The mechanism of recrystallization of binary aluminum and tin bronzes
A nanostructural mechanism for recrystallization of binary aluminum and tin bronzes has been developed. First, structure-forming nanocrystals of α-phases, β-phases and γ-phases are formed from elementary nanocrystals of copper, aluminum, tin and their ...
