Nodulins in root nodule development [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
In de bodem zijn Rhizobium bacteriën in staat de wortels van vlinderbloemige planten (erwt, boon, klaver) te infecteren en aan te zetten tot de vorming van knolletjes.

Temporal Divergence of True and False Alarms in Pediatric Nocturnal Seizure Monitoring

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
The early‐morning surge in false seizure alarms supports exploring time‐ or state‐dependent detection thresholds to reduce false detections. ABSTRACT Seizure detection devices can improve the safety of children with epilepsy, yet high false alarms limit their clinical applicability.

Single-Molecule Imaging Reveals Rapid Estradiol Action on the Surface Movement of AMPA Receptors in Live Neurons

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Gonadal steroid 17β-estradiol (E2) exerts rapid, non-genomic effects on neurons and strictly regulates learning and memory through altering glutamatergic neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Nano Borophene as a Programmable 2D Scaffold for Organized DNA Assembly and Long‐Range Energy Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Borophene is introduced as a programmable 2D bio‐interface that organizes DNA through dual boron–sulfur and nucleobase interactions. This molecular architecture enables efficient long‐range nanosurface energy transfer, establishing new design principles for functional nano–bio interfaces and amplification‐free optical biosensing.

NAP-XPS and In Situ DRIFTS of the Interaction of CO with Au Nanoparticles Supported by Ce1–xEuxO2 Nanocubes

open access: yes, 2020
Control of metal–support interactions is one of the major challenges in heterogeneous catalysis. In this study, we explored the effect of Eu doping on the metal–support interactions in Au/Ce1–xEuxO2 catalysts applied in the oxidation of CO.

Bio‐Inspired Multifunctional Superhydrophilic Coatings With Remarkably Fast Self‐Healing Abilities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We developed bio‐inspired multifunctional hydrogel‐based coatings that exhibit extremely fast/repeatable self‐healing abilities, long‐lasting anti‐fogging performance, superhydrophilicity in air, and underwater superoleophobicity. By doping multivalent metal‐ions into the hydrogel networks, which promoted hydrogen bonding formation and enhanced the ...
