We have previously reported that C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), the third member of the natriuretic peptide family, is produced in vascular endothelial cells and suggested that CNP might be a local regulator of vascular tone and growth. To evaluate the biological actions of CNP as compared with human atrial natriuretic peptide (hANP), we ...

Implementation of guideline‐recommended medical therapy for patients with heart failure in Europe
Abstract Physicians' adherence to guideline‐recommended heart failure (HF) treatment remains suboptimal, especially regarding the target doses. In particular, there is evidence that non‐cardiologists are less compliant with HF guideline recommendations. This is likely to have a detrimental impact on patients' survival, readmissions and quality of life.

N-Terminal pro C-Type Natriuretic Peptide (NTproCNP) and myocardial function in ageing.
Ageing-related alterations in cardiovascular structure and function are commonly associated with chronic inflammation. A potential blood-based biomarker indicative of a chronic inflammatory state is N-Terminal Pro C-Type Natriuretic Peptide (NTproCNP ...

Lean ZSF1 rats in basic research on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
Abstract Aims ZSF1 obese rats harbouring two mutant leptin receptor alleles (Leprcp and Leprfa) develop metabolic syndrome and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), making them a widely used animal model in cardiometabolic research.

Natriuretic peptide system and cardiovascular disease
The mammalian Natriuretic Peptide (NP) system consists of neuro-hormones, such as atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), c-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), and the N-Terminal fragment of BNP (NT-pro-BNP).

C-Type Natriuretic Peptide Analogue Therapy in Children with Achondroplasia
Achondroplasia is a genetic disorder that inhibits endochondral ossification, resulting in disproportionate short stature and clinically significant medical complications. Vosoritide is a biologic analogue of C-type natriuretic peptide, a potent stimulator of endochondral ossification. In a multinational, phase 2, dose-finding study and extension study,

Abstract Aims Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR‐CM) is an increasinglyrecognized cause of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), which may be diagnosed non‐invasively using 99mTc 3,3‐diphosphono‐1,2‐propanodicarboxylic acid (DPD) scintigraphy‐based diagnostic criteria.

Endothelium-derived C-type natriuretic peptide offsets the pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension
In the systemic circulation, C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) fulfils a multimodal homeostatic function, modulating many processes relevant to pulmonary hypertension (PH), including local blood flow, vascular remodeling and cardiac function.

Interventional therapies for chronic heart failure: An overview of recent developments
Abstract Heart failure (HF), the final manifestation of most cardiovascular diseases, has become a major global health concern, affecting millions of individuals. Despite basic drug treatments, patients present with high morbidity and mortality rates. However, recent advancements in interventional therapy have shown promising results in improving the ...

Abstract Aims The prognostic significance of left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) severity in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) remains uncertain. This study aimed to evaluate the association of LVDD severity and elevated left atrial pressure (eLAP) with patient outcomes in stable, non‐acutely decompensated patients with DCM ...
