Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Determination of reproductive periodicity in the intertidal mole crab Emerita asiatica [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Food supply may be regarded as the primary factor controlling growth rate and egg production in the natural populations of Crustacea (Wcnner et ah, 1974). The faster growth rate can also lead to an altered age/size at sexual maturity.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

The role of naturally stored food supplies in the winter diet of the boreal Willow Tit Parus montanus

open access: yesOrnis Svecica, 1994
The average amount of food that was stored during an autumn by Willow Tits Porus montanus was estimated by sampling hoarding intensities and analysing the energetic contents of the stored items. Measurements of retrieval and losses of the stored food made it possible to calculate how much of the stored food that actually was used by the hoarder.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Effect of a food supplement based on natural supplies and bioactive components of seven roots on sexual behavior in rats

open access: yesCiencia e Investigación, 2020
The present study aimed to determine the effect of a food supplement based on natural inputs and bioactive components of plant species on sexual behavior. It is an experimental, prospective and longitudinal investigation. For the test, 150 albino rats were used: 75 females and 75 males of the Holtzmann breed of 12 weeks of age, with an average weight ...
