Diagnostic Impact of Liver Biopsy Among Antinuclear Antibody Positive Individuals With Mild Liver Enzyme Elevation

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 64, Issue 1, Page 103-111, July 2026.
In ANA‐positive patients with suspected autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), liver biopsy rarely altered therapeutic management when alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was below 101 U/L and cirrhosis was absent. These findings suggest that biopsy may be safely deferred in this low‐risk group.

Evolution of carbapenem resistance in klebsiella pneumoniae and escherichia coli carrying bla NDM−1 gene: imipenem exposure results in sustained resistance memory of strains in vitro

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, 2023
Background Antibiotics exert an outstanding selective pressure on bacteria, forcing their chromosomal gene mutations and drug resistance genes to spread.

NDM-4- and NDM-5-Producing Klebsiella pneumoniae Coinfection in a 6-Month-Old Infant [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2016
Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae are a serious problem worldwide ([1][1]). Among the newly emerging carbapenemases, New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM) is one of the antimicrobial resistance factors causing greatest concern because its global spread has been rapid and it is ...

Genetic Contexts of blaNDM-1 in Patients Carrying Multiple NDM-Producing Strains

open access: yes, 2015
The carbapenem resistance determinant bla(NDM-1) has been found in various Gram-negative bacteria and upon different plasmid replicon types (Inc). Here, we present four patients within two hospitals in Pakistan harboring between two and four NDM-1 ...

‘Logic Is Transcendental’: Content, Isomorphism and Intentionality in Wittgenstein's Logic of Depiction

open access: yesPhilosophical Investigations, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 300-315, July 2026.
ABSTRACT According to most readers of the Tractatus, Wittgenstein's logic is empty or contentless, since it consists of tautologies that do not picture reality. This view, however, does not explain how and why Wittgenstein's ‘logic of depiction’ is transcendental (T, 4.015 and 6.13), especially given that Kant introduced transcendental logic through ...

Optimisation of a Novel Class of DNA Gyrase Inhibitors to Improve Antibacterial Activity

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
This article describes efforts to increase the antibacterial activity of a recently reported class of novel DNA gyrase inhibitors known as the isoquinoline sulphonamides by improving their uptake in bacterial cells. As antibiotic resistance continues to rise, the need for new antibacterials is clear.
