Electron microscopical examination of negatively stained extracellular fluids (ECF) from Spodoptera frugiperda cell cultures infected with a recombinant baculovirus expressing the Newcastle disease virus (NDV) haemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) revealed NDV-like envelopes which resembled the envelopes of authentic NDV.
