Air Pollution and the Risk and Progression of Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Air pollution has been linked to several neurological conditions, including stroke and neurodegenerative diseases. Evidence regarding its association with multiple sclerosis (MS) remains conflicting, limited by small sample sizes. Methods PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane controlled register of trials (CENTRAL) were searched on ...

Improving near-eye display resolution by polarization multiplexing

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
We present here an optical approach to boost the apparent pixel density by utilizing the superimposition of two shifted-pixel grids generated by a Pancharatnam-Berry deflector (PBD). The content of the two shifted pixel grids are presented to the observer's eye simultaneously using a polarization-multiplexing method.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Design of see-through near-eye display for presbyopia

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We propose a compact design of see-through near-eye display that is dedicated to presbyopia. Our solution is characterized by a plano-convex waveguide, which is essentially an integration of a corrective lens and two volume holograms. Its design rules are set forth in detail, followed by the results and discussion regarding the diffraction efficiency ...

The optics of an autostereoscopic multiview display

open access: yes, 2010
An autostereoscopic head-tracked back projection display that uses an RGB laser illumination source and a fast light engine is described. Images are horizontally scanned columns controlled by a spatial light modulator that directs two or more images in ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Posterior Cortical Atrophy in the Asia‐Pacific: A Report From the PCA Asian Workgroup

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) is a distinct dementia syndrome primarily affecting spatial abilities and visual processing. It is associated with degeneration in the posterior part of the brain. PCA is subclassified into PCA‐pure and PCA‐plus syndromes based on consensus criteria.

Beaming Displays: Towards Displayless Augmented Reality Near-eye Displays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Augmented Reality (AR) near-eye displays promise new human-computer interactions that can positively impact people’s lives. However, the current generation of AR near-eye displays fails to provide ergonomic solutions that counter design trade-offs such ...
