Ubiquitination of ACSL4 by Parkin Suppresses Ferroptosis and Rescues Glucocorticoid‐Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GCs reduce Parkin, leading to ACSL4 accumulation and PUFA‐phospholipid‐driven ferroptosis in BMSCs, which impairs osteogenesis and promotes adipogenesis, causing GIOP. Parkin restoration (via OE‐Parkin or Parkin‐LNP@DSS6) ubiquitinates and degrades ACSL4, inhibiting ferroptosis, rescuing bone formation, and rescues GIOP bone loss.

A High‐Loading Zn Single‐Atom Nanozyme Targets the Zn/HIF‐1α/GLUT1 Axis to Disrupt Glucose Metabolic Reprogramming and Remodel the Tumor Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐loading Zn single‐atom nanozyme (ZMG@CS) delivers ML‐SA5 and GOx to lysosomes. ML‐SA5 activates TRPML1 to release endogenous Zn2+, while the nanozyme provides exogenous Zn2+ and GOx‐driven acidification amplifies ROS production. Together, these effects suppress the HIF‐1α/GLUT1 axis, disrupt glucose and redox homeostasis, induce disulfidptosis ...

Real Time Network Traffic Monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This paper looks at the problems of real time network traffic monitoring. Some of the existing approaches are reviewed, looking at both simple filtering systems and also systems based on the use of finite state machines that can report specific events or

Biomarker Potential of Interleukin-6 in Differentiating Necrotizing Enterocolitis from Late-Onset Sepsis in Neonates Born Preterm

open access: yesJournal of Pediatrics: Clinical Practice
Objective: Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an early biomarker for sepsis and necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). We assessed IL-6's ability to differentiate between late-onset sepsis (LOS) and NEC and between medical and surgical NEC.

Sustainable Productivity Growth in Agriculture: The Role of Shifts in R&D Investments and Technology

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The objective of the paper is to evaluate the long‐term prospects of sustainable productivity growth linked to plausible assumptions on public agricultural R&D investments as the key productivity driver. Second, it investigates the role of changing R&D focus from yield maximization to input saving technologies (fertilizers and pesticides). The

Design and Validation of Blast Non-propagation Wall for Multi-Compartmented Explosive Storage Structure of Capacity 5T NEC per Compartment

open access: yesDefence Science Journal, 2018
Conventional magazines for hazard division 1.1 are constructed using bricks and reinforced cement concrete (RCC) for which storage inside quantity distance (SIQD) is 2.4 W1/3 m, where W is Net Explosive Content in kg. New composite called laced reinforced concrete (LRC) has been developed recently, for which SIQD has been reduced up to 0.5 W1/3 m.

North American Delphi Consensus Study on Sinonasal Malignancy Survivorship Care

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survival for patients with sinonasal cancers has improved over the past decades, but there are no dedicated survivorship guidelines for this cohort. Objective To understand experts’ priorities and perspectives on key survivorship tenets (surveillance, second tumor screening, toxicity, and symptom management).

Elevated DUOX2 levels correlate with necrotizing enterocolitis development

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology
BackgroundNeonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a life-threatening intestinal disease primarily affecting preterm infants. Although the exact pathophysiology remains unclear, immune responses and redox reactions play crucial roles in its ...

Metabolomic signatures distinguish the impact of formula carbohydrates on disease outcome in a preterm piglet model of NEC

open access: yesMicrobiome, 2018
Background Major risk factors for necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) include premature birth and formula feeding in the context of microbial colonization of the gastrointestinal tract. We previously showed that feeding formula composed of lactose vs.
