Rational nef and anti-nef polytopes are not uniform
We give two examples which show that rational nef and anti-nef polytopes are not uniform even for klt surface pairs, answering a question of Chen-Han. We also show that rational nef polytopes are uniform when the Cartier indices are uniformly bounded.

Molecular Determinants of Nef Function
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the causative agent of the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), in addition to encoding for the gag, pol and env structural genes common to all retroviruses also encodes six accessory genes: tat, rev, nef, vpr, vpu and vif. These accessory genes are responsible for the regulation of HIV replication. Recent

By leveraging this homodimerization mechanism, molecular glues were rationally designed to induce dysfunctional 3A dimerization, thereby restoring antiviral RNAi. The optimal molecular glue, VTP‐32, demonstrated potent and pan‐enterovirus (groups A, B, D) antiviral effects.

Alkylating HIV-1 Nef - a potential way of HIV intervention
Background Nef is a 27 KDa HIV-1 accessory protein. It downregulates CD4 from infected cell surface, a mechanism critical for efficient viral replication and pathogenicity.

Objective Dysarthria is one of the most common and disabling side effects of subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN‐DBS) in Parkinson's disease (PD). Stimulation often exacerbates speech dysfunction beyond the effects of PD progression, likely because of current spread to structures surrounding the STN.

Abstract Aims SPARCL1 was recently identified as a biomarker of right ventricular (RV) maladaptation in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH), and N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic protein (NT‐proBNP) is an established biomarker of RV failure in PH. The present study investigated whether NT‐proBNP and SPARCL1 concentrations are associated with load ...

HIV-1 Myristoylated Nef Treatment of Murine Microglial Cells Activates Inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase, NO2 Production and Neurotoxic Activity. [PDF]
The potential role of the human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) accessory protein Nef in the pathogenesis of neuroAIDS is still poorly understood.

Abstract This paper examines the link between climate risk, energy consumption, and financial market performance in a sample of emerging countries over the period 2000–2024. The objective is to model the dynamic interactions between these three dimensions, in order to understand the extent to which energy dependence and exposure to climate risks ...
