Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Language Production and Syntactic Choice: How Cognitive Economy Shapes Negation Preferences in Jordanian Arabic

open access: yesПсихолінгвістика
Aim. The present research explores the cognitive principles that underlie the selection of negation types in Jordanian Arabic (JA) while expressing futurity. Methods.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Computational models for multilingual negation scope detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Negation is a common property of languages, in that there are few languages, if any, that lack means to revert the truth-value of a statement. A challenge to cross-lingual studies of negation lies in the fact that languages encode and use it in ...

The syntax of emphatic negation in Modern Irish

open access: yesGlossa
In this paper I argue, following proposals by Laka (1990), Aboh (2010), De Clercq (2013; 2020a), and Greco (2019; 2020ab) among others, that negation has a dedicated position in the left periphery where it takes wide scope over the lower sentential ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

The nanosyntax of French negation : a diachronic perspective

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents a nanosyntactic account for negation in what is referred to as le bon usage French (Grevisse and Goosse [1936] 1993, Rooryck 2010) and in colloquial French.

Verbal negation

open access: yes, 2020
While it is well–known that negation has various behaviours, I focus here on verbal negation, a constituent negation acting on verbs. I show that propositional negation and verbal negation are barely distinguishable at matrix level, but that a real ...

Negation of permutation mass function in random permutation sets theory for uncertain information modeling

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
Negation provides a novel perspective for the representation of information. However, current research seldom addresses the issue of negation within the random permutation set theory.
