Jeune Syndrome with Neonatal Cholestasis
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2011Jeune syndrome or Asphyxiating Thoracic Dystrophy presenting clinically with hepatic manifestations is rarely seen. Delayed referral of neonatal cholestasis (NC) can result in significant morbidity and mortality. In this multi-center study, we aimed to evaluate the reliability of the stool card in the Indian population and develop an integrated NC card with (a) urine color identification and (b) stool color for early referral.Consecutive children with NC were ...

Molecular basis of neonatal cholestasis
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 2002At present, specific evidence regarding the molecular mechanisms of neonatal cholestasis is limited. The recent explosion in the understanding of the molecular physiology of bile formation has been fueled by the discovery of several genes that are involved in familial cholestasis.

Cholestasis and growth in neonates with gastroschisis
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2012The aim of this study was to determine the incidence of cholestasis and the correlation between cholestasis and weight-for-age z scores in parenteral nutrition-dependent neonates with gastroschisis.A single-center retrospective review of 59 infants born with gastroschisis from January 2000 to June 2007 was conducted.

Effect of Phototherapy on the Physiologic Cholestasis of the Neonate
Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, 1984Phototherapy (PT) has been reported to increase bile acid excretion in the bile of adults with liver cirrhosis. We investigated the effect of PT on the levels of serum total bile acids (STBA), conjugated cholic acid (CCA), conjugated chenodeoxycholic acid (CCDCA), conjugated lithocholic acid (CLCA), and sulfolithocho‐lylgiycine (SLCG) in 13 neonates ...
