ABSTRACT Mutations in myelin regulatory factor (MYRF) are linked to demyelinating disorders. We report a 38‐year‐old male who developed acute symmetric leukoencephalopathy mimicking a stroke following an influenza A virus infection. While clinical symptoms markedly improved with corticosteroids, MRI revealed persistent white matter lesions, contrasting

Methylation patterns at the adjacent CpG sites within enhancers are a part of cell identity
Background It is generally accepted that methylation status of CpG sites spaced up to 50 bp apart is correlated, and accumulation of locally disordered methylation at adjacent CpG sites is involved in neoplastic transformation, acting in similar way as ...

Radiation-induced neoplastic transformation of human cells.
Ionizing radiation can induce cancers in humans and animals and can cause in vitro neoplastic transformation of various rodent cell systems. However, numerous attempts to achieve neoplastic transformation of human cells by radiation have generally proven unsuccessful.

Researchers have developed a patient‐derived organ‐on‐a‐chip model for pancreatic cancer by integrating cancer cells with supportive stromal and immune cells inside a microfluidic device. This system mimics the tumor microenvironment, enabling personalized testing of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and offering new insights into how targeting ...

Cells With Chromosomal Aberrations Trigger Neoplastic Transformations in Humans [PDF]
Human population cytogenetic studies have revealed that a majority of persons who are prone to developing malignant features possess chromatin bodies termed as marker dots (MDs) measuring nearly 2 to 3 microns. These MDs are seen emanating from certain specific chromosomes, which may be early indicators of neoplastic transformation within cells.

This study finds that CD8⁺ TSCM cells exhibit superior self‐renewal, differentiation, and antiviral activity. Transcriptome and epigenome analyses highlight MAPK cascade regulation in TSCM cells. In vivo, virus‐specific TSCM cells show enhanced persistence and tumor protection.

The Quest for Targets Executing MYC-Dependent Cell Transformation
MYC represents a transcription factor with oncogenic potential converting multiple cellular signals into a broad transcriptional response, thereby controlling the expression of numerous protein-coding and non-coding RNAs important for cell proliferation,

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.
