Quantitation of immune complexes by nephelometry
Journal of Immunological Methods, 1979Laser nephelometry was used to quantitate immune complexes and IgG aggregates in native sera. Sensitivity limits and calibration curves were in good agreement with the C1q binding assay frequently used for measuring immune complexes. Distinction between sera containing lipids or immune complexes was achieved by polyethylene glycol precipitation ...

Quantitation of Rheumatoid Factor Activity by Nephelometry
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1979Rheumatoid factor activity can be quantitated by use of nephelometric assay system. The data presented show a good correlation between this new method and the older quantitative latex tube rheumatoid factor test. In addition, the nephelometric and latex tube testing of sera from normal, rheumatoid and non-rheumatoid patients yielded similar results ...

Measurement of serum glycosaminoglycans by laser nephelometry
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1981A simple, sensitive micromethod for the assay of serum hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulphates is presented. The method is based on the binding of the quaternary ammonium salt, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) to serum polyanions, and quantitation of the complexes by laser nephelometry.

Rapid Amylase and Lipase Determinations by Nephelometry
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1978The Coleman 91 nephelometer provides rapid, simple amylase and lipase assays, which are particularly suited to emergency requests. Linearity of amylase compares favorably with that of the Phadebas assay, and comparable precision was obtainable with serum and urine. Normal ranges for serum amylase are slightly higher than those based on the amyloclastic

Transiently Elevated Apparent Lipase by Nephelometry
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1978Occasional patient sera showing normal or minimally elevated lipase activity in the 6-hour titrimetric assay and discordantly high lipase activity in the 6-minute nephelometric assay were encountered. Most of these sera had normal amylase activity. They represented about 1% of outpatient sera subjected to amylase assay.

A Comparison of Particle Counting and Nephelometry
Journal AWWA, 1977Plant‐scale tests to compare particle counting and nephelometry as tools to evaluate filter‐plant performance indicated that particle counting is a more sensitive technique for measuring suspended solids concentration.
