TSPO deficiency promotes the progression of malignant peripheral sheath tumors by regulating the G2/M phase of the cell cycle via CDK1

open access: yesScientific Reports
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are highly aggressive Schwann cell-derived sarcomas that are sporadic or associated with Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) gene mutations. Traditional therapies are usually ineffective for treating MPNSTs, so new

N-Pep-Zn Improves Cognitive Functions and Acute Stress Response Affected by Chronic Social Isolation in Aged Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats (SHRs)

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background/Objectives: Aging and chronic stress are regarded as the most important risk factors of cognitive decline. Aged spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) represent a suitable model of age-related vascular brain diseases. The aim of this study was

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Typical CIDP, distal variant CIDP, and anti-MAG antibody neuropathy: An ultra-high frequency ultrasound comparison of nerve structure

open access: yesScientific Reports
To date, little is known about the usefulness of ultra-high frequency ultrasound (UHF-US, 50–70 MHz) in clinical practice for the diagnosis of dysimmune neuropathies.

Artificial Nervous Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Abstract Electronic devices and systems that can emulate the complex cognitive abilities of nervous systems have been an important research topic in recent years. Artificial nervous systems with multimodal perception, neural signal processing, and reflex‐driven functionalities have been established by integrating multimodal sensors ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Spine and Spinal Cord Injuries on the Basis of Medical Documentation

open access: yesPielęgniarstwo Neurologiczne i Neurochirurgiczne, 2014
Introduction. The progressive mechanisation of work in every area of life and the rapid development of means of transport have a major impact on the steadily increasing number of injuries.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.
