Immunohistochemical Detection of Nestin in Pediatric Brain Tumors

open access: yes, 2002
Nestin is an intermediate filament protein (IFP) expressed in undifferentiated cells during CNS development and in CNS tumors. Previous studies have arrived at different conclusions in terms of which types of CNS tumors express nestin. In this report we

The Astrocyte Clock Controls Circadian Perineuronal Net Remodeling, Synapse Strength and Learning Behavior

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 10, October 2026.
Bmal1 regulates astrocyte extracellular matrix (ECM) gene expression. Bmal1 deletion in astrocytes disrupts normal circadian rhythms in perineuronal nets (PNN) and reduces PNN content in the hippocampus. In parallel with loss of PNNs, deletion of the core circadian clock gene Bmal1 in astrocytes alters behavior and synaptic function in vivo.

Role of Nestin in Mouse Development

open access: yes, 2012
Although nestin has served as a marker of neural stem/progenitor cells for close to twenty years, its function is still poorly understood. During development, this intermediate filament protein is expressed in many different progenitors including those ...

Cytoskeletal Dynamics in Cancer: From Pathogenesis to Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
This review systematically addresses the fundamental roles of the cytoskeleton (actin filaments, microtubules, and intermediate filaments) in cancer progression. We focus on how cytoskeletal dynamics regulate tumor proliferation, metastasis, and programmed cell death, while also modulating the immune microenvironment. Understanding these mechanisms may

Immunohistochemical analysis of nestin expression in UCB.

open access: yes, 2014
The photographs are representative tumor cells that were negative (A) and positive (B) for nestin. Nestin expression was also observed in the cytoplasm of vascular endothelial cells and fibroblasts in tumor stroma in each case (Figure 1A, B).

Nestin 阳性细胞在小鼠心肌组织中的表达及分布特征

open access: yesZhongshan Daxue xuebao. Yixue kexue ban, 2013

Effects of Tributyltin Chloride on Human Neuronal Differentiation and Mice Brain Development

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, Volume 41, Issue 10, Page 906-921, October 2026.
ABSTRACT According to the developmental origins of health and disease hypothesis, perinatal exposure to an environmental toxicant during the development of the nervous system could cause a permanent cellular modification that may promote the appearance of neurodegenerative diseases at an older age.

Developmental Anomalies in Human Teeth: Odontoblastic Differentiation in Hamartomatous Calcifying Hyperplastic Dental Follicles Presenting with DSP, Nestin, and HES1

open access: yesJournal of Developmental Biology
Hyperplastic dental follicles (HDFs) represent odontogenic hamartomatous lesions originating from the pericoronal tissues and are often associated with impacted or embedded teeth.

SUN11602 Accelerates Early Peripheral Nerve Regeneration in an Experimental Median Nerve Transection Model

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 19, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is one of the common life‐altering disabilities resulting in various degrees of impairment in movement and sensation alongside apraxia and long‐lasting pain. The gold standard for restoring the transected nerves is bridging the distal and proximal ends of disrupted autologous nerve using neurosurgical sutures ...
