Production and emigration of neural crest cells is a transient process followed by the emergence of the definitive roof plate. The mechanisms regulating the end of neural crest ontogeny are poorly understood. Whereas early crest development is stimulated

An Interacting Neuronal Network with Inhibition: theoretical analysis and perfect simulation [PDF]
We study a purely inhibitory neural network model where neurons are represented by their state of inhibition. The study we present here is partially based on the work of Cottrell \cite{Cot} and Fricker et al. \cite{FRST}. The spiking rate of a neuron depends only on its state of inhibition.

We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

A model of a neural network with recurrent inhibition
A model of a neural network with recurrent inhibition has been studied. The model is intended as a possible description of the cerebral cortex, although this interpretation is not necessary. Using the corresponding neuroanatomical concepts, it can be described in the following way. The network consists of pyramidal cells and stellate cells.

Molecular mechanisms underlying resting-state brain functional correlates of behavioral inhibition
Previous literature has established the presence of sex differences in behavioral inhibition as well as its neural substrates and related disease risk.

Inhibition in Random Neuronal Networks Enhances Response Variability and Disrupts Stimulus Discrimination [PDF]
Inhibition is considered to shape neural activity, and broaden its pattern repertoire. In the sensory organs, where the anatomy of neural circuits is highly structured, lateral inhibition sharpens contrast among stimulus properties. The impact of inhibition on stimulus processing and the involvement of lateral inhibition is less clear when activity ...

Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Neural and behavioral mechanisms of proactive and reactive inhibition
Response inhibition is an important component of adaptive behavior. Substantial prior research has focused on reactive inhibition, which refers to the cessation of a motor response that is already in progress. More recently, a growing number of studies have begun to examine mechanisms underlying proactive inhibition, whereby preparatory processes ...

Stretching the limits of maximal voluntary eccentric force production in vivo
During eccentric contractions, muscular force production capacity is enhanced compared to isometric contractions. Although this is well accepted in terms of muscle mechanics, maximal voluntary eccentric contractions are associated with neural inhibition ...

A model of stimulus-specific neural assemblies in the insect antennal lobe. [PDF]
It has been proposed that synchronized neural assemblies in the antennal lobe of insects encode the identity of olfactory stimuli. In response to an odor, some projection neurons exhibit synchronous firing, phase-locked to the oscillations of the field ...
